He's talking about everyone walking more- walking and thinking, as Plato and the Buddhists and the mindfulness practitioners advise--
Ben Okri says 'walking is its own thing, it keeps us close to the right level of life and close to the natural pace of things'...banish the headphones, talk to people en route..I walk the streets near my house every day for 30-40 minutes, take in the beauty of it whatever it is that day, and make a policy of trying to talk to at least three people--ie 'what a beautiful dog/baby/day/tricycle'...people do like it! Green walks for body and soul- also possible in towns...
So we can join up with ourselves and with others-and it is of course also very good exercise for we cansurvivors...
